LUMSx is LUMS’ digital learning center. We aim to extend LUMS’ excellence in teaching and research beyond its borders by leveraging technology​. We offer online courses taught by leading experts to meet the diverse needs of learners. Our courses center on knowledge & skills that are in demand locally and globally. 

LUMSx provides a variety of courses to set up learners for personal and professional success. Currently, we have courses in the following domains:

  • Professional certificates – Courses designed to develop today’s in-demand skills.
  • Open LUMS Courses – Free, open access, high-quality courses for everyone.
  • Executive Education – Customized courses designed to drive professional and organizational growth.
When you click on any course card, you will be taken to the course overview page. Here, you can click ‘Enroll’ and you will be directed to the learning management system (LMS) where the course is hosted. All our course offerings are hosted on either our internal LMS (LUMSx LMS) or on an external LMS (ilmX). Once you are on the relevant learning platform, you will have an option to either freely enroll in the limited version of the course or get full course access by purchasing it.

Enrolment in LUMSx courses is open for everyone, though there may be certain courses that expect learners to have some pre-requisite knowledge.

No, there is no age restriction. We believe everyone deserves access to high-quality learning.
You will have indefinite access, so long as the given course remains in our course catalogue.
Yes, our courses can be accessed anywhere as long as you have a stable internet connection. You can access our courses via your mobile phone and/or computer.
Your progress for the course is always saved in your respective learning management system (LMS) account. Whenever you log in again, you will be able to proceed from where you left off. 

Our courses have been developed by renowned LUMS faculty and leading experts. Your interaction with the course faculty will depend upon the nature of the course.  
 
For hybrid and synchronous courses, you will have access to instructors depending upon the nature of engagement mentioned in the respective course. 

For all asynchronous (i.e., pre-recorded, online courses), learners will not have direct, real-time interactions with instructors.

Some of our courses are available in both English & Urdu while others may be available in one of the two languages. Going forward, our intention is to make our courses available in both languages (Urdu & English) to expand access.
No. All our current courses are 100 percent online, and available to participants regardless of their location. In the coming future, we hope to expand our course catalogue to include hybrid courses that may require in-person participation.
Asynchronous courses are pre-recorded, online courses. The key to successfully completing asynchronous, self-paced courses is to set aside some time every day for the course. Focus on the learning and attempt assessments with a mindset to learn; pay special attention to the feedback that you receive in these assessments as it will help clarify many pertinent concepts.

Yes, you will receive a certificate of completion upon course completion. 

You will need to complete all the modules, quizzes and assessments. For some courses, you may also be required to achieve a certain threshold score to pass it.
The length of our courses currently averages around 4-6 weeks.
The current courses will not confer credit upon completion. Going forward, we hope to expand our course offerings to provide specific courses that can confer credit.
LUMSx courses are delivered through two learning platforms: LUMSx LMS & ilmX. Both LUMSx LMS and ilmX are online platforms for learning experiences. When you press the ‘Enroll’ button for any course, you will be directed to either of these platforms. Once you are on these platforms, you can either freely enroll yourself in a limited version of the course or get full access by purchasing the course.

Yes, you can freely enroll in the limited version of the course where some course features are available. If the course aligns with your interests, you can purchase the course to get full access to course material. 

To pay for a course, you can click on its course card. This will lead you to the course overview page where you can click on the ‘Enroll’ button. This will then direct you to one of our two learning management systems (LMS) where the course is hosted. On this page, the button ‘Get Full Access’ will take you to the payment gateway.

Yes, there may be group discounts available for specific courses. The exact details will be present in the relevant course overview page.

No, our “Open LUMS Courses” are free for everyone. We also have exciting free Webinars, Podcasts and knowledge-packed Masterclasses available in our “Events & Webinars” category.
